
If you forget your password, Microsoft cannot retrieve it. It is critical that you remember your password. A pass phrase that uses 14 or more characters is better. Passwords should be 8 or more characters in length. Use strong passwords that combine uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. The password can be up to 15 characters long and case-sensitive. In the New password box, type your new password. Your Outlook folders are already protected by your Exchange password. Note: This button does not appear if your email account runs on Microsoft Exchange. You can't set a password for individual folders within the Outlook Data File (.pst). When you set an Outlook Data File (.pst) password, it's set for the entire file. If your Microsoft Windows user account is password protected, and no other person has access to your Windows user account, you can select the Save this password in your password list check box after you verify your new password. Your computer can remember your password so that you don’t have to type it in each time you open the Outlook Data File (.pst). Keep any password you write down in a secure location, away from the information that it helps protect. If you forget it, Microsoft can't retrieve it.
